https://www.diamond-hill.com/investment-strategies/us-equity/small-mid-cap/mutual-fund/614 255 3333The Diamond Hill Small-Mid Cap Fund generally commits at least 80% of its portfolio to American common stocks. It primarily seeks out small and mid-sized companies that the fund's manager believes are trading below their true value. These targeted small and mid-cap businesses are defined as having market capitalizations, at the time of acquisition, between $500 million and $10 billion, or falling within the market capitalization range of companies found in the Russell 2500 Index at that same time. A core principle of the Adviser's approach is to evaluate a company's inherent value, rather than being influenced by its current market price.
