Amprius (AMPX) Stock Climbing The Charts Before Hours

Amprius Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: AMPX) shares are experiencing an upward trend during the pre-market session, reflecting a 4.71% increase to $4.22 as of the last check. The preceding trading session saw Amprius stock climb by 6.61%, reaching $4.03. This surge in AMPX stock follows the company’s recent expansion initiatives.

Amprius (AMPX) marked a significant occasion this month with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event, unveiling the expanded production line at Amprius Lab in Fremont, California. This expansion, aimed at providing insights to customers, investors, and partners, is part of the company’s strategic growth plan.

By commissioning its exclusive anode production line, AMPX is amplifying its production capacity by a factor of ten at its Fremont facility, transitioning from kilowatt-hours (kWh) to megawatt-hours (MWh) in scale. This increased capacity will cater to existing clients such as Airbus, AeroVironment, BAE Systems, and Teledyne FLIR.

Moreover, it will address the growing demand from new customers anticipating product availability in 2024. The manufacturing facility is geared towards producing cutting-edge, high-energy batteries with anticipated energy densities surpassing 500 Wh/kg and 1300 Wh/L, alongside high-power batteries capable of discharge rates reaching up to 10C.

The ceremony featured presentations from Amprius’ current partners, including AALTO Airbus, AeroVironment, and CENTCOM, emphasizing the significance of Amprius’ next-generation technology across aviation, High-altitude platform systems (HAPS), and defense applications.

Attendees had the opportunity to interact with Amprius executives, gaining insights into the impact of the expansion and touring the state-of-the-art manufacturing line. This facility features innovative assembly and dry rooms, as well as the same mass production anode equipment technology slated for the gigawatt-scale factory.

The expansion of the Fremont facility marks a pivotal achievement for Amprius as it significantly enhances its capacity to meet the growing demands of existing clients while expanding its customer base.

Amprius is adopting advanced manufacturing processes for its proprietary silicon anode cell production, laying the groundwork for its gigawatt-scale factory expected to be operational by 2025.
