What are pre-market movers?
Pre-Market movers are the stocks with the largest price changes and heaviest trading before the opening bell. Because far fewer shares change hands outside normal trading hours, these moves can be sharper — and less reliable — than moves during the regular session.
When is the pre-market session?
US pre-market trading generally runs from 4:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. ET, and after-hours trading from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. Availability depends on your broker, and not every stock trades in both windows.
Why do stocks move outside regular hours?
Most extended-hours moves follow news: earnings releases, guidance updates, analyst rating changes, clinical or regulatory decisions, mergers, or broad economic data. The News / Catalyst column points to the headline behind each move where one is available.
Should I trade these moves?
Extended-hours trading has thinner liquidity and wider spreads, so prices can swing quickly and often reverse once the regular session opens. Check the ST Score and the company's fundamentals before acting on any move shown here.
