In a collaborative effort with SleepScore Labs and Mattress Firm, IFF unveiled an innovative, non-invasive solution aimed at enhancing sleep quality: Sleepy’s Scented Pillow Inserts. The scientifically-backed inserts, comprised of 70 percent repurposed cotton, are strategically placed between the pillow and pillowcase, necessitating a weekly replacement.
Each package provides a three-month supply of these revolutionary inserts. The synergy between IFF, SleepScore Labs, and Mattress Firm enabled the widespread distribution of Sleepy’s Scented Pillow Inserts, presenting a groundbreaking product that transcends hedonic fragrance experiences.
The demonstrated positive impact on overall sleep quality signifies a harmonious blend of scientific rigor and creative ingenuity. This product has the potential to transform the consumer sleep experience, imparting a positive influence on numerous lives.
Commencing in 2020, IFF and SleepScore Labs meticulously conducted over 130 distinct scientific studies, encompassing a cumulative sleep duration exceeding one million hours. Leveraging cutting-edge sleep monitoring technology, which measured various parameters including respiratory and actimetry every 30 seconds, the research identified specific scent combinations conducive to improved sleep quality, termed as METASLEEP.
Subsequent to the identification of METASLEEP, SleepScore Labs and IFF undertook three additional dedicated studies focusing on the scents and their incorporation into pillow inserts. The results revealed a significant approval rating, with 91 percent of respondents expressing satisfaction and 80 percent attesting to improved sleep.
Impressively, 79 percent reported experiencing benefits from the very first night. SleepScore Labs’ sleep-tracking technology further substantiated these findings, confirming reduced wakefulness and fewer nighttime disturbances among participants.
