The parent company of the Farmers & Merchants State Bank, Farmers & Merchants Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: FMAO), recently confirmed that the Board of Directors has expanded from 12 to 13 members and Lori A. Johnston has been named to the Board of Directors of both the Company and the Bank.

Ms. Johnston is a working member of the Toledo community, serving as a member of the Board with a number of entities such as Toledo Mud Hens/Toledo Walleye, Ohio Health Plans Association, Health Plan Alliance, Compassion Health Toledo, and St. Ursula Academy.

One of our main strategic initiatives is the addition of leading talent in all areas of the company including our board of directors. Lori is a well-established leader and will be aboard and a company asset.

Ms. Johnston will serve on the Board of Directors’ Audit Committee, based on her financial expertise.

Ms. Johnston lives in Ohio’s Grand Rapids. She is the chairperson of ProMedica Insurance Company, a ProMedica Health System partner. Since 1996, she has been working in growing stages of management positions by ProMedica Health System and associates. Ms. Johnston has worked in Toledo, Ohio from 1983-1996 by Ernst & Young, LLP and is a Certified Public Accountant.
