Power Assets Holdings Limited functions as an investment holding company, primarily engaged in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. Its operations extend across Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Australia, mainland China, and other global markets. The company sources its energy from thermal, renewable, and waste materials. Beyond its core electricity business, Power Assets also handles the transmission and distribution of oil and gas. It manages property holdings and financial deposits, in addition to offering a range of services such as consulting, investment, trust administration, and general management. The company boasts substantial infrastructure, with a generation capacity including 1,064 MW from renewable energy/waste, 5,214 MW from gas-fired facilities, and 3,815 MW from coal/oil-fired plants. It further operates 114,200 kilometers of gas and oil pipelines, alongside an extensive power network spanning 402,500 kilometers, collectively serving more than 19.3 million customers. Established in 1889 and headquartered in Central, Hong Kong, the company was previously known as Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited before adopting its current name, Power Assets Holdings Limited, in February 2011.
