The Voya Ultra Short Income ETF (VUSI) is an actively managed fund with the primary objective of generating substantial current income while diligently safeguarding principal. It diversifies its portfolio across a broad spectrum of income-generating debt instruments, including governmental and corporate obligations, asset- and mortgage-backed securities, loans, and various derivative instruments. These assets are sourced from both domestic and international issuers, including those in developing economies. To mitigate sensitivity to interest rate fluctuations, the fund maintains an average portfolio duration of no more than one year. While primarily focusing on investment-grade fixed income, VUSI retains the flexibility to allocate up to 15% of its assets to higher-yielding, below-investment-grade securities. Furthermore, it strategically employs derivatives like swaps, options, and futures, not only for risk hedging and return enhancement but also for efficient cash management. The investment approach of the management team integrates broad macroeconomic perspectives with in-depth fundamental analysis and robust risk management practices, a process further bolstered by proprietary research and sophisticated scenario-based analytics.
