Template — review by counsel required. This page is a plain-English draft provided for transparency. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be checked and adapted by qualified legal counsel before it is relied on as a binding agreement.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Stocks Telegraph website, applications, data, screeners, scores, articles and related services (together, the “Service”).
Please read them alongside our Disclaimer, Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, which form part of these Terms.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing, browsing or subscribing to the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, to create an account or purchase a subscription.
What the service is
Stocks Telegraph provides information and research tools. It does not provide investment advice.
Everything published on the Service — including stock scores, grades, screener results, analyst summaries, calendars, articles and newsletters — is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any security, and it is not tailored to your financial situation, objectives or risk tolerance.
We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer or financial planner. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions, and you should consult a licensed professional before acting on anything you read here.
We do not guarantee that any information on the Service is accurate, complete, current or free from error. Data may be delayed, restated by its source, or unavailable, and features may change or be discontinued.
Your account
Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Accounts are for a single individual. Sharing credentials, reselling access, or using one subscription to serve multiple people or an organisation is not permitted without a written agreement with us.
Subscriptions & billing
Premium access is sold as a monthly or annual subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annually — until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime. You can cancel from your account at any time. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Any change to your renewal price will be communicated in advance, and it applies only from your next renewal.
- Promotions. Introductory or discounted pricing applies only for the stated period; the subscription then renews at the standard rate shown at checkout.
- Taxes. Prices may exclude applicable taxes, which are added where required.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, premium access may be suspended until payment succeeds.
Refunds and cancellations are covered in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download data from the Service, or use automated tools to access it, except through a facility we expressly provide.
- Redistribute, republish, resell or sublicense our data, scores or content.
- Share, resell or otherwise make your account available to others.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source of any part of the Service.
- Interfere with, overload or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure or its security.
- Use the Service for anything unlawful, including market manipulation or the misuse of material non-public information.
- Misrepresent our content as investment advice or as your own work.
Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, scoring methodology, compiled datasets and software, is owned by Stocks Telegraph or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own, non-commercial use. No other rights are granted.
You may quote short excerpts of our articles with clear attribution and a link back to the original page. Anything beyond that requires our written permission.
Third-party market data
Quotes, fundamentals, estimates, analyst ratings, insider filings, calendars and related information are supplied by third-party providers, including Financial Modeling Prep (FMP) and Polygon.io, and by public filings.
That data is provided “as is”. We do not originate it, cannot guarantee its accuracy or timeliness, and are not responsible for provider errors, omissions, restatements, delays or outages. Prices may be delayed and should not be treated as real-time trading data.
Your use of third-party data through the Service may also be subject to the terms of the relevant provider.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that any result obtained from using it will be accurate or profitable.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stocks Telegraph and its owners, employees and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, trading losses, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of — or inability to use — the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel your subscription from your account.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we suspect fraud or abuse, or if we are required to do so by law. We may also discontinue the Service or any part of it.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law — continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date shown on this page, and material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed by counsel], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where mandatory local consumer law provides otherwise.
This placeholder must be completed before these Terms are published as a final agreement.
